Love lives here

I love our home.

It’s kinda small and dinged up (it’s New York City, after all), and it took us a good 10 years of living here to figure out how to solve the storage issue. If you open the hallway closets, you’ll see that part of the solution most accurately can be described as “shove-it-in-as-best-you-can”.

As I was lying in bed this morning, it occurred to me that our home is pretty much the same size as my very first apartment in Copenhagen, at the age of 20. Same shape too. I loved that apartment too.

I thought about it in anticipation of the return of our now adult child for the holiday, with a friend, and I was going through the various small adjustments and accommodations we need to make to be 4 adults here.

And all I could think was:

There’s a lot of love in this home. We cram it in, but there it is. A whole lot of love and a whole lot of light. And I love it.

I can’t wait for the bustle of this weekend.
